Husein Alicajic / Writer Director

Husein Alicajic is a writer and director based in Sydney and Los Angeles. Winner of the 2002 Dendy award for best short film Beginnings at the Sydney Film Festival and the 2005 IF award for best unproduced screenplay Divine Shadows, Husein has created award winning work across drama, promos and commercials.

Recently awarded a Gold Promax award for 2008’s Best Television Promo and Best Unproduced Movie Trailer at the 2009 Los Angeles Golden Trailer Awards, Husein’s depth of knowledge, experience and natural talent allows him to apply his collaborative skills with confidence and ease.

He worked with Director Alex Proyas to create a pre-trailer for the 20th Century Fox film I, Robot, and was Second Unit Director and additional Editor on the Fox 2000 film Aquamarine. Husein collaborated with acclaimed UK writer Jeff Noon on his debut feature Divine Shadows that is currently in pre-production with producer Daria Jovicic (Girl with a Pearl Earring), and recently he became attached to direct the AMPAS Nicholl Fellowship winning feature film The Secret Boy, collaborating again with producers Daria Jovicic and Peter Bogart (Con Air).
